Somewhere in your organization, this quarter, a system stopped suggesting and started doing.

You are the person accountable for how that goes. This is a working manual for that position, the practitioner companion to The Delegated Life: not commentary, not a compliance product, and not legal advice, but diagnostics you can run in a meeting, maturity ladders that tell you where you actually stand, and instruments that turn judgment into paper an organization can operate.

Inside: a ladder for placing systems by the authority they actually hold, and a rule for climbing it safely. Six conditions with maturity ladders, read-aloud diagnostics, vendor questions for buyers, and afternoon-sized starting tiers. Eight antipatterns of delegation with their earliest observable signs. A continuity bridge that treats revocation plans as continuity plans, with two measures your board can act on and a tabletop exercise that keeps them honest. A one-page deployment covenant that binds it all. And the retirement-wave problem nobody’s dashboard shows: what happens to AI systems grounded on the working files of experts who are already leaving.

Seventeen instruments are printed in full as blank forms, ready to copy. The worked example runs a fictional forty-person brokerage from first gate to signed covenant. Crosswalks orient the method against NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, the EU AI Act, DORA, and ISO 22301, mapping concepts without asserting compliance.

No theory you cannot run by Friday; no promise the book does not teach you to test. Delegation governed well is not slower. It is merely earlier.
