خاطرات نخستین جنگ فلسطین؛ اثر جمال عبدالناصر (نویسنده)، آندرو لئونه (ویراستار)، ولید خالدی (مترجم)

This memoir offers a rare firsthand account of the 1948 Palestine War from the perspective of Gamal Abdel Nasser, who later became Egypt’s leader and a central figure in Arab nationalism. In this compelling narrative, Nasser reflects on his experiences as a young officer, the challenges of war, and the broader implications for the Arab world. Through his observations, readers gain insight into the political and military realities of the conflict, as well as the personal reflections that helped shape his vision for Egypt and the region.

Although written in the early 1950s, the first English translation, 1973, from Journal of Palestine Studies accomplished by Palestinian historian Walid Khalidi, this edition makes Nasser’s words accessible to a broader audience, preserving the historical significance of his account.

This new Edition puts the memoirs in a Book Format enriched with relevant maps and photos.
A must-read for those interested in Middle Eastern history, military strategy, and the foundations of modern Arab politics.
